WHAT ON EARTH IS DECIEM?
Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science-first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. He developed DECIEM to be a happy family (of people and beauty brands), rooted in kindness, creativity, diversity, and respect, alongside Co-Founder and CEO, Nicola Kilner.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Culture & Community Chemistry Specialist, Global who will lead the implementation of a Chemist focused community-building strategy, build noise amongst social-led Chemists and align with key Chemistry tastemakers to build rapport and introduce them to innovation, ingredients, and product<3
DECIEM Culture & Community Chemistry Specialist, Global Follows culture and trends within the social scientific community and they are:
- Immersed in the cosmetic scientist culture
- Able to build long-lasting personal relationships
This is a hybrid role based out of our London office<3
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
- Create Chemist based content in partnership with our in-house scientists
- Ideate, plan, and execute global Chemist community eventing at our HQ
- Grow informed word of mouth recommendations via chemist communities with a focus on science-led communications
- Make noise within the chemistry community outside of the NPL and brand calendars, and instead with a focus on our innovation and capabilities in-house
- Create deep connections with Chemists who are leaders in cosmetic-science culture, meeting regularly, and building long-lasting relationships
- Support the Global Communications Director with the Chemistry Community tactic
- Create a calendar to align product gifting and partnerships
- Report on chemist community activity and relationships status on a weekly basis
- Attend key science led conferences and global networking events, and bring new events to a Global calendar
- Execute brand tactics to continually increase our scientific capabilities and prowess
- Seek out new partnership opportunities within the chemistry community
- Contribute to Global Community & Culture brainstorms to drive the business forward
- Reports into the Community and Culture Lead, Global
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- Experience planning and managing small-scale events, as well as overseas meet-ups
- A regular social media user with an understanding of industry trends and an advanced user of all major social media platforms, understanding capabilities, and evolutions,
- Solid organizational and time management skills, detail-oriented, and ability to focus and work efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills both written and oral, and ability to work with all levels of staff and management
- Open-minded and inclusive, relishes the idea of communicating with audiences of all backgrounds, genders, and personal style, with the ability to work collaboratively, cooperatively, and creatively
