DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Project Manger, Product Development & Launch – The Ordinary to join our team!

This position is a 12 month contract.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto office.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Responsible for managing projects to execute product roadmaps and commitments for DECIEM’s product development life cycle from research and development, through to product launch.
  • Manage the product development life cycle by working with the appropriate cross functional teams (Scientific, Production, Supply Chain, Brand, Commercial, Finance, Learning and Development, etc.) to plan and develop scope, deliverables, resource requirements, work plan, budget, and timing for new and existing products.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and communicate project status, progress, and risks to key stakeholders. Ensure that all deviations and risks are communicated and escalated effectively. (including updating PM tool Wrike)
  • Act as a first point of contact for questions, requests or updates submitted by cross functional teams related to the scope, timeline, resources, and budget of a project and communicate/escalate the information as appropriate.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Ensure that all supporting cross-functional teams understand their responsibilities and the required timeframes associated with their deliverables
  • Create a breakdown for major projects into doable actions and set timeframes
  • Systematically review projects to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, within defined scope, and with agreed-upon specifications to enable the achievement of defined benefits.
  • Ensure project processes are applied consistently, including project plans, issue and risk management, financial management, resourcing, and communications management
  • Implement the appropriate project management methodology depending on the nature of the project
  • Manage projects related to continuous operational improvements for product development life cycle processes
  • Maintain a thorough understanding and documentation of DECIEM’s business practices, process and operations
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and lessons learned after projects are completed.
  • Act as a liaison with the project managers of other departments, and facilitate the communication between teams involved in cross functional department projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Degree or diploma required, with a focus on IT, Business, Science or another related field
  • Relevant work experience in project management for product development and product launch in the cosmetic or consumer packaged goods industry is an asset.
  • Project Management Institute, PMP Certification or equivalent is an asset
  • 5 + years of project implementation experience is required
  • 2 + years of managerial or worked in a leadership role is required
  • Discipline to be methodical and demonstrates excellent decision making
  • Demonstrates business acumen and understands how to implement/manage change
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, MS Project, MS Visio, Adobe Creative Suite, Google tool suite, project management software and approaches (Agile and waterfall project management)
  • Proficient word processing skills using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities and deadline is essential
  • Solid organization and time management skills with the ability to focus and work efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing projects with excellent follow through and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to work with all levels of staff and management
