WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced project engineer to help our expansion to a more optimized production.

This role will be based out of our Eastside Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Responsible for drafting user requirement specifications, in addition to front-to-back purchasing and vertical start-up of processing equipment for DECIEM’s compounding and packaging departments.
  • Establish strong working relationships with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and integrators who excel in delivering quality and compliance with Canadian industry standards.
  • Work with Production to develop and optimize manufacturing and packaging processes from inception to start-up while ensuring that validation/qualification standards are upheld.
  • Upgrade systems and processes of existing filling and packaging lines through supplemental automation.
  • Maintain electronic equipment records and engineering drawings, adhering to quality standards when implementing modifications (e.g., change controls, document revision version control).
  • Perform risk assessments, manage CAPEX/project budgets and tight deadlines, and provide process documentation and operating instructions as required.
  • Coordinate contractors on site for installing, testing, and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Draft and execute factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests for new production equipment.
  • Assist in developing qualification protocols for new and modified production equipment as required.
  • Develop engineering solutions to support maintenance, quality, and safety initiatives.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

    • Experience with FDA/Health Canada-regulated cosmetic, food, or pharmaceutical field is preferred.
    • Knowledge of equipment design, construction, operation, qualification, and maintenance.
    • Knowledge of process automation equipment related to the cosmetics, personal care, or pharmaceutical industries is an asset.
    • Relevant education (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) OR equivalent work experience in a progressive Manufacturing career management
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office platform (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as CMMS, ERP, working knowledge of AutoCAD, and any other relevant proprietary software applications, with the ability to integrate new software into an existing business environment.
    • Ability to travel up to 10%
